That was more riveting than any TV program I've watched in years. One can appreciate the efforts of the entire team when you see the lineup on the ILS 04R scatter underneath 230's go-around. I fly through CenAmer and Merida airspace in Central America all the time. I was wondering just today what the difference in workload during an emergency would be there versus in the US. The controllers are well-trained in the standard ICAO phraseology, but the majority do not have a sufficient vocabulary in English to cope with the versatility emergency situations demand. The same is true for my Spanish. Fascinating! That was more riveting than any TV program I’ve watched in years.
